Our Mission
God has given our family a calling to
Raise up leaders for the kingdom in Cambodia.
Our past experience and ongoing passion for youth has led us to focus on serving Khmer people through education and discipleship. Our vision is to invest in the lives of children, students, and young adults who will grow into strong, godly leaders among their own people in Cambodia. Together with the support of our prayer and financial team, we believe God will use us to impact a generation in Cambodia!
EDUCATION . . . for today, tomorrow & eternity.
Katie is teaching full time with an organization called Asian Hope. Asian Hope exists to reach Cambodia for Christ by meeting the needs of vulnerable children and their families. They accomplish this through providing a high-quality, Christian education to children at two different schools in Phnom Penh, as well as a Village Development Program for children who lack access to schooling opportunities. Since August 2020, Katie has been teaching 1st grade at Asian Hope International School, which is a bilingual school for Cambodian children. Evelyn and Josiah also attend school there and are learning the Khmer language.
DISCIPLESHIP
Cambodia is around 98% Buddhist, so a huge opportunity exists for the gospel to be shared in this under-reached nation. Though the church in Cambodia is growing, it lacks significant resources and infrastructure common to churches in Western, developed nations. Most Khmer churches are in great need of support for biblical training, leadership and discipling of young believers. Sokion has a heart to utilize his Bible college training to disciple young people in small group settings and one-on-one mentoring. Having been born and raised in Cambodia and coming to know Christ through a Khmer-led church, he is uniquely equipped to help young Khmer believers grow in their walk with Jesus in their own cultural context.
Through a partnership with another ministry, Sokion has the privilege of discipling a group of students who grew up in a Christian orphanage in Kampong Thom province. We love having these students in our homes regularly for meals and fellowship!
As a family, we are committed to connecting with the local Cambodian church to serve the body of believers and fellowship together cross-culturally.
